Just a few short weeks ago, news feeds throughout the country were highlighting the economic strain coming into a new fiscal year. If the recent activity in the call center hiring space is any indication, growth is on an upswing. Reports have been popping up throughout the industry, complete with expansions, new jobs and the potential for a lot of new revenue. Allstate Expands In Idaho, the Boise Weekly reports that Allstate is expanding its Roadside Services Division, which will result in 225 new jobs. The company’s 75,000-square-foot Customer Contact Center is located in the Pocatello-Chubbuck region. With the company’s efforts to expand its customer-facing services, call center hiring will focus on filling positions for managers, instructors and customer service representatives. Salon to Add Call Center New jobs will soon be added in Dayton, Ohio as Square One Salon and Spa renovates a 2,000-square-foot space to accommodate its call center plans. According to this Biz Journals piece, a centralized call center is in the works to serve the company’s four locations throughout the state of Ohio. Built out with eight stations, the call center will allow customer service representatives to schedule client appointments, promote additional services and answer questions. This approach to quality service is what co-owner Brent Johnson says he believes is the key differentiator for the company. Square One plans to hire roughly 12 individuals to fill call center positions once the new location is open. Call Center to Hire 300 Stream Global Services has announced plans to upgrade its Watertown call center, adding 300 new jobs. According to this Watertown Daily Times article, the $4.2 million project has the green light thanks to financial support from local economic development agencies. This expansion will not only create new call center hiring capabilities now, but also accommodate for further expansion in the future. Funding approval came about thanks to the company’s strong financial performance to date. Stream Global Services has also demonstrated its commitment to creating new jobs. Roughly 200 individuals have already been hired, while upgrades could lead to the creation of another 1,000 jobs. Call center hiring is still in progress. Expansion in the Rio Grande Convergys (News Pharr City Manager, Fred Sandoval noted that while Convergys had previously announced its plans to expand the 24-hour call center located in the city, such a large jump in hiring was unexpected.
