Call centers all over the United States are hiring dozens – sometimes hundreds – of agents. For example, in Las Cruces, New Mexico alone, two different call centers are hiring agents. Sitel hired 250 employees for its call center in August and wants to hire 100 more. Also, the Convergys (News "We're looking for highly motivated individuals who can work from our contact center, providing great customer service and promoting our client's products and services," James Crossland, site leader in Las Cruces for Convergys told The Las Cruces Sun-News. "We are reaching out into our community to fill these openings, because these are not only terrific positions, they are great stepping stones to a career in operations, recruitment or training." The hiring news is not limited to New Mexico, however. An Alorica call center near Pittsburgh is seeking approximately 50 agents to work on its phone captioning service. A healthcare company in Jacksonville, Florida is also hiring agents, as is an insurance call center in Arizona. And this is just a smattering of the call center hiring news from the past week. Each and every week brings several announcements that call centers around the nation are hiring new agents, which is both a good sign for the businesses themselves and, of course, for people who are out of work.
