VXI Global Solutions recently celebrated the hiring of 1,000 employees at its call center in Canton, Ohio, with a ceremony, as well as the announcement that it plans to hire 400 at this location. According to VXI president and CEO, David Zhou, half of these are to be hired on within the next three months. Ultimately, the formerly AT&T (News VXI is a provider of telemarketing services, serving clients in the telecommunications, energy, entertainment and satellite television industries. Based in Los Angeles, the company has a handful of locations in the U.S., as well as internationally. According to VXI's current job applications for the Canton call center, sales positions start with hourly wages at $9, which can increase to around $12 to $13 with commission, even hitting upwards of $17 per hour in some cases. The vast majority of the work, about 95 percent, at the Canton site has to do with inbound calls. Technical support and customer service positions are also available. Initially, VXI had planned to pass over Canton after not finding a building for lease, but Mayor William J. Healy II suggested the former AT&T building just as Zhou was about to leave the town. VXI Global Solutions seems to perpetually be hiring new employees despite the recent economic downturn as last year, the company hired 200 people at its Youngstown, Ohio, location. In April, the company was named by TMC in its list of Top 50 Teleservices Agencies Rankings as number seven in the world. Want to learn more about the latest in communications and technology?
