Recently, 3PL Worldwide signed a catalog-distribution contract with Distinctive Apparel Inc., of Taunton, Mass., a company that owns the retail stores Chadwick's of Boston and Metrostyle. In line with the agreement, the Milford operator's will work to create new clothing catalogs and will be hiring over 150 new warehouse and call center workers and managers to manage the large number of calls coming in with questions and concerns about the new offerings. Specifically, the newly hired call center workers will be handling incoming calls from customers in regards to clothes, shoes, household goods or gift items. After being purchased, 3PL will then take the merchandise from its warehouse, package the product for shipping, and send it directly to customers' doorsteps. In line with the call center hiring strategy, the company has extended its headquarters which now measures out to around 78,000-square-feet and will help to enhance the amount of products it can hold for its East Coast transactions. In related call center hiring news, TMCnet reported that a call center in Texarkana, Tex. has begun hiring qualified individuals and is looking to employ around 200 people by the end of the process. Currently made up of team that consists of around 450 people, the ArkLaTex call center will be holding multiple job fairs in search of new prospects. This center offers inbound customer service. Call center site director Harte Hanks revealed to KSLA News 12 that as customers of the company have continued to increase what they want from their call center, the center has seen a much fuller workload, causing it to be in need of more agents. The site director said in a statement, “What I really need you to know is one how to use a computer, how to move around on website and some trouble shooting skills with any type of mobile devices. We train on it all so as long as you know how to point and click on a computer, we will train you up to take a call."
