Convergys (News - Alert), one of the largest agent-assisted customer service companies in the world, has announced that it is looking to fill more than 2,000 full-time jobs in the U.S. over the next two months as part of its “Work as you like it” employment drive offering interested applicants the choice of work-at-home or contact center-based agent and management positions.
Convergys, with its Home Agent team one of the fastest growing parts of the company, is hiring over 1,000 people to work as home agents to handle customer service phone calls, Web chats, and e-mail inquiries. An additional 1,000 jobs are available to people interested in management and agent positions within 20 of Convergys' call center facilities across the country.
Nearly three-quarters of Convergys' customer service managers began their careers as agents, and the company is widely known for its internal promotion of employees, according to a release. Already at 30,000 U.S. employees in its customer management business today, Convergys last year launched a successful campaign called “We Can Relate” to increase its hiring focus on employees who truly enjoy solving customer problems.
Convergys says it is seeking people who are computer-literate, have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and desire a job that can easily turn into a long-term career. Experience in customer service, sales, or technical support is a bonus for applicants applying to certain positions. A strong work ethic and commitment to excellence are also desired, according to the company.
Convergys has approximately 70,000 employees in 69 customer contact centers and other facilities in the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, and our global headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio.
