C3 Hiring 600 for New Tucson Call Center

CustomerContactChannels (C3 (News - Alert)), a customer service company based in Florida, will be hosting a job fair today and tomorrow in order to fill full-time positions at its new call center in Tucson, Ariz.
By September 6, the company plans to hire 320 workers by September 6, ramping up to 600 employees by the end of November.
In addition to sales and customer services, C3 also handles consulting and infrastructure, including e-mail and benefits management.
Founded in 2009, C3 is headquartered at Plantation, Fla. The company has facilities in the U.S., Puerto Rico, India, and the Phillipines.
Seven months ago, Tucson Regional Economic Opportunities (TREO) began working with C3.
In a release, Laura Shaw, Senior VP of TREO, said, "I think it will bring a number of new jobs to Tucsonans in a still-difficult economic recovery."
According to Shaw, the C3 expansion was possible with the help received from the city of Tucson, Pima County, The Temp Connection, Randstad Staffing and Recruiting, and CB Richard Ellis.
According to Alicia Laszewski, spokeswoman for C3, a majority of job openings at Tucson are for customer service reps, with a small number of management jobs also available. All the openings would go to local workers as there are no plans to relocate current employees.
Laszewski added that the workforce has been the deciding factor for choosing Tucson. While the company prefers workers with previous customer-service experience, there is no mandatory requirement for prior experience.
According to Laszewski, Tucson was selected in the early stage of planning after looking at a number of different cities. Increasing demands from current and new clients have resulted in the need for a new call center.
