Call center outsourcer iQor Inc. will soon be hiring agents for its new state-of-the-art, 50,000 square-foot call center in Tempe. Ariz. The new call center reportedly has capacity for more than 1,200 employees. In a release, Vikas Kapoor (News - Alert), president and CEO of iQor, said the firm selected Tempe so as to tap the Phoenix metro area’s “concentration of highly skilled professionals.” “The region has been an excellent recruitment market for us and will continue to be a key part of our global footprint," he said. The firm already has more than 700 employees working at other centers in the area. The move is representative of a growing trend wherein contact center outsourcers are keeping more call center jobs in the US. The new call center will run on iQor's (News - Alert) TeQ21 platform, a fully integrated suite of applications delivering “automation, flexibility, and ease-of-use not available on the market today.” Call center hiring will begin in about two months. "We are excited about iQor's technology and long-term investment in Tempe, and are encouraged by the company's technology and vision for growth," said Tempe's Mayor, Hugh Hallman, in the release. "Tempe's reputation as a preferred location for business is further validated by iQor's commitment. This expansion will provide job opportunities and aid economic development not just in Tempe but in surrounding communities as well."
